Medication Name: Mounjaro 2.5mg/0.6ml 1 KwikPen
Active Ingredient: Tirzepatide 2.5 mg per 0.6 ml injection

Pharmacological Class: Dual GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonist (antidiabetic / weight-management agent)

Indications:

• Type 2 diabetes mellitus (adjunct to diet and exercise)

• Sometimes used off-label for weight management in adults with obesity or overweight with related conditions

Dosage Form: Prefilled pen for subcutaneous injection

Typical Dose and Use:

• Starting dose: 2.5 mg once weekly for 4 weeks (to improve gastrointestinal tolerance)

• After 4 weeks, the dose is usually increased to 5 mg once weekly

• Dose may be titrated in 2.5 mg increments after at least 4 weeks at each level, up to a maximum of 15 mg once weekly

Route of Administration: Subcutaneous (abdomen, thigh, or upper arm)

Contraindications:

• Personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC)

• Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2)

• Hypersensitivity to tirzepatide or any component of the formulation

Common Side Effects:

• Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea

• Constipation or abdominal discomfort

• Decreased appetite

• Fatigue or dizziness

Serious Side Effects (seek medical attention):

• Severe abdominal pain that may radiate to the back (pancreatitis)

• Signs of gallbladder disease

• Persistent vomiting or dehydration

• Allergic reaction (rash, swelling, difficulty breathing)

Storage:

• Store refrigerated at 2 °C to 8 °C

• May be kept at room temperature (below 30 °C) for up to 21 days

• Do not freeze or expose to direct heat
