Composition

Each suppository contains:

• Meloxicam 15 mg

Indications

Used for:

• Rheumatoid arthritis

• Osteoarthritis

• Ankylosing spondylitis

• Musculoskeletal pain and inflammation

Mechanism of Action

Meloxicam selectively inhibits cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzyme, reducing prostaglandin synthesis responsible for pain and inflammation, while minimizing gastrointestinal side effects compared to non-selective NSAIDs.

Dosage & Administration

• Usual adult dose: One suppository (15 mg) once daily.

• Insert rectally as directed by a physician.

• Do not exceed 15 mg per day.

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to meloxicam or other NSAIDs

• Active gastrointestinal ulcer or bleeding

• Severe liver, kidney, or heart failure

• Pregnancy (especially third trimester)

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with a history of peptic ulcer or GI bleeding.

• Monitor renal and hepatic function during long-term use.

• Not recommended for children.

• Headache, dizziness
