Active Ingredient:
Dapagliflozin 25 mg

Pharmacological Class:
SGLT2 (Sodium-Glucose Co-Transporter 2) inhibitor

Indication:
Used in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve glycemic control, either alone or in combination with other antidiabetic medications.
Also indicated to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events in patients with type 2 diabetes and established cardiovascular disease, and to treat chronic heart failure.

Dosage:
One tablet once daily, preferably in the morning, with or without food.
Dose adjustments may be necessary based on renal function and therapeutic response.

Administration:

• Swallow the tablet whole with water.

• Maintain adequate hydration during treatment.

Precautions:

• Evaluate renal function before starting therapy and monitor periodically.

• Avoid use in patients with severe renal impairment or end-stage renal disease.

• Use caution in patients at risk of hypotension, dehydration, or urinary/genital infections.

• Temporarily discontinue during acute illness, major surgery, or reduced oral intake.

Possible Side Effects:
Increased urination, genital yeast infections, urinary tract infections, dehydration, thirst, hypotension, dizziness, and rarely diabetic ketoacidosis.
