Active Ingredient:
Clarithromycin 250 mg per tablet

Pharmacological Class:
Macrolide antibiotic

Indications:
Used to treat infections caused by susceptible bacteria, including:

• Upper respiratory tract infections (pharyngitis, tonsillitis, sinusitis)

• Lower respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, pneumonia)

• Skin and soft tissue infections

• Dental and sinus infections

• Helicobacter pylori infection (in combination with other drugs for gastric ulcer treatment)

Dosage (for adults):

• Typical dose: 250–500 mg twice daily for 7–14 days, as prescribed by the physician.

• In Helicobacter pylori eradication therapy: 500 mg twice daily with other agents for 7–14 days.

Dosage (for children):

• Tablets are not suitable for children who cannot swallow solid forms. The suspension form should be used instead.

Administration:

• May be taken with or without food, but preferably with meals to reduce stomach upset.

• Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew.

Precautions:

• Contraindicated in patients allergic to clarithromycin or other macrolides.

• Use with caution in patients with hepatic or renal impairment.

• Avoid concomitant use with certain medications (e.g., cisapride, pimozide, ergotamine, lovastatin, simvastatin).

• Consult a physician before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Possible Side Effects:

• Gastrointestinal: nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea

• Altered taste (metallic or bitter)

• Headache, dizziness

• Mild skin rash (discontinue if severe allergic reaction occurs)

Storage:

• Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from light and moisture.
