Composition

Each vaginal ovule contains:

• Clotrimazole 400 mg – antifungal agent

Indications

• Treatment of vaginal yeast infections (vaginal candidiasis)

• Relieves symptoms such as itching, discharge, and irritation

Mechanism of Action

• Inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes

• Leads to increased membrane permeability and fungal cell death

Dosage & Administration

• Adults: Insert 1 ovule into the vagina daily, preferably at bedtime

• Duration: Usually 3 consecutive days (follow physician’s instructions)

• Can be used with a tampon if necessary, but avoid intercourse during treatment

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to clotrimazole or other azole antifungals

Precautions

• Not for oral use

• Avoid contact with eyes

• Inform the physician if pregnant or breastfeeding before use

Side Effects

• Local irritation, burning, or itching

• Rarely: allergic reactions
