Active Ingredients (per sachet):

• Magnesium sulfate

• Magnesium carbonate

Indications:

• Relief of constipation

• Reduction of urinary acidity (helps prevent uric acid stones)

• Adjunct in cases of indigestion or hyperacidity

Mechanism of Action:

• Magnesium salts draw water into the intestines by osmotic action, softening the stool and stimulating bowel movement

• They also act as systemic alkalinizers, neutralizing excess acid in urine and gastric contents

Dosage and Administration:

• Adults: 1 sachet dissolved in half a glass of water, taken once or twice daily as needed

• Should be taken on an empty stomach for best laxative effect

• Drink plenty of water after administration

Contraindications:

• Severe renal impairment or kidney failure

• Heart block or myocardial damage

• Dehydration or electrolyte imbalance (especially hypermagnesemia)

Precautions:

• Use with caution in elderly patients or those with renal or cardiac conditions

• Avoid prolonged use to prevent dependence or electrolyte disturbances

• Consult a physician before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding

Common Adverse Effects:

• Abdominal discomfort or cramping

• Diarrhea

• Nausea

• Rarely, hypermagnesemia (especially with renal impairment)
