Medication Name: Vildaformin 50/1000 mg 30 Tablets
Active Ingredients:

• Vildagliptin 50 mg

• Metformin Hydrochloride 1000 mg

Pharmacological Class:
Combination of DPP-4 inhibitor and Biguanide antidiabetic agent

Indications:

• Type 2 diabetes mellitus (for adults inadequately controlled by metformin or vildagliptin alone, or as an alternative to dual therapy with separate tablets)

Dosage Form: Film-coated tablets

Typical Dose and Use:

• Usual dose: One tablet twice daily (morning and evening) with or after meals to reduce gastrointestinal side effects

• Dose may be adjusted based on glycemic response and tolerability

• Do not exceed vildagliptin 100 mg per day

Route of Administration: Oral

Contraindications:

• Type 1 diabetes mellitus or diabetic ketoacidosis

• Severe renal impairment (eGFR <30 mL/min/1.73 m²)

• Hepatic impairment

• Known hypersensitivity to vildagliptin, metformin, or any tablet component

Common Side Effects:

• Gastrointestinal disturbances (nausea, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort)

• Headache, dizziness

• Mild hypoglycemia (especially when combined with sulfonylureas)

• Metallic taste

Serious Side Effects (seek medical attention):

• Lactic acidosis (rare but potentially fatal)
