Sinopril Co 20/12.5 mg (30 Tablets)

Active Ingredients:

• Lisinopril 20 mg (Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme Inhibitor – ACE inhibitor)

• Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg (Thiazide diuretic)

Therapeutic Class:
Antihypertensive combination (ACE inhibitor + Thiazide diuretic)

Indications:

• Treatment of essential hypertension in adults when monotherapy with lisinopril or hydrochlorothiazide alone is insufficient.

• Lowers blood pressure by:

  1. Relaxing blood vessels (Lisinopril).

  2. Promoting mild diuresis and reducing fluid retention (Hydrochlorothiazide).

Dosage:

• Usual dose: one tablet once daily.

• Preferably taken in the morning to avoid nighttime urination.

• May be taken with or without food.

• Dosage should be individualized based on blood pressure response.

Precautions:

• Contraindicated during pregnancy and in patients with a history of angioedema or severe renal impairment.

• Use with caution in patients with electrolyte imbalance, dehydration, or liver disease.

• Monitor renal function, electrolytes (especially potassium and sodium), and blood pressure regularly.

• Avoid concurrent use with potassium supplements, potassium-sparing diuretics, or lithium unless prescribed.

• May increase sensitivity to sunlight; skin protection is advised.

Possible Side Effects:

• Dizziness, especially when standing up quickly

• Dry persistent cough (common with ACE inhibitors)

• Fatigue or weakness

• Headache

• Increased urination

• Low blood pressure (hypotension)

• Electrolyte disturbances (low potassium, sodium, or magnesium)

• Rare: rash, angioedema (swelling of face or throat)

Store below 25°C, in a cool, dry place, protected from moisture and direct sunlight.
