Active Ingredient:
Liraglutide 6 mg/ml

Pharmacological Class:
GLP-1 (Glucagon-Like Peptide-1) receptor agonist

Indication:
Used for chronic weight management in adults with obesity (BMI ≥30) or overweight (BMI ≥27) with at least one weight-related comorbidity (e.g., hypertension, type 2 diabetes, dyslipidemia), as an adjunct to reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.

Dosage:

• Initiate at 0.6 mg daily, increasing weekly by 0.6 mg increments to a target dose of 3 mg daily.

• The exact dose and titration schedule should be guided by the physician.

Administration:

• Administer subcutaneously in the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm using the prefilled pen.

• Rotate injection sites to reduce the risk of lipodystrophy.

• Do not mix with other medications or insulins in the same injection.

Precautions:

• Not recommended in patients with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2.

• Use with caution in patients with pancreatitis, severe gastrointestinal disease, or renal impairment.

• Monitor for signs of hypoglycemia if used with insulin or sulfonylureas.

• Store unused pens in the refrigerator; in-use pens may be kept at room temperature (below 30°C) for up to 30 days.

Possible Side Effects:
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, decreased appetite, headache, injection site reactions, and rarely pancreatitis or gallbladder disease.
