Composition

• Active Ingredient: Permethrin 5%

Indications

• Treatment of scabies caused by Sarcoptes scabiei

• Relief of itching and irritation associated with scabies

Mechanism of Action

• Permethrin disrupts the nerve function of mites, causing paralysis and death

• Kills mites and their eggs

Dosage & Administration

• Route: Topical

• Apply thin layer to entire body from neck down, leave for 8–14 hours (usually overnight)

• Rinse off with water after recommended duration

• Treat all close contacts simultaneously

• Wash clothes, bedding, and towels in hot water to prevent reinfestation

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to permethrin or any component of the cream

• Open wounds or infected skin

Precautions

• Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes

• Not recommended for infants under 2 months

• Can be used during pregnancy if necessary, under medical supervision

Side Effects

• Mild burning, stinging, or redness at application site

• Rare: rash, swelling, or allergic reaction
