Indications:
Used to treat bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms, including:

• Upper respiratory tract infections (pharyngitis, tonsillitis, sinusitis)

• Lower respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, pneumonia)

• Otitis media (middle ear infection)

• Skin and soft tissue infections

• Certain dental and sinus infections

• Helicobacter pylori eradication (as part of combination therapy)

Dosage (for children):

• Standard dose: 7.5 mg/kg twice daily for 5–10 days (maximum 500 mg twice daily).

• Shake well before each use.

• Use the provided dosing syringe for accurate measurement.

Dosage (for adults):

• Adults typically use the tablet form, but suspension may be used if swallowing tablets is difficult.

• Common dose: 250–500 mg twice daily for 7–14 days, as prescribed.

Administration:

• Can be taken with or without food, but preferably with food to reduce stomach upset.

• Shake well before each dose to ensure uniform suspension.

Precautions:

• Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to clarithromycin or other macrolides.

• Use with caution in patients with liver or kidney disease.

• Avoid concurrent use with certain medications (e.g., statins, warfarin, ergot derivatives) without medical supervision.

Possible Side Effects:

• Gastrointestinal: nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort, diarrhea

• Headache, altered taste

• Mild skin rash (stop treatment if severe reaction occurs)

Storage:

• Store below 25°C.

• After reconstitution, keep at room temperature and use within 14 days (do not refrigerate).
