Inderal 10 mg (50 Tablets)

Active Ingredient:

• Propranolol hydrochloride 10 mg

Therapeutic Class:
Beta-blocker – Non-selective

Indications:

• Hypertension (high blood pressure)

• Angina pectoris (chest pain)

• Cardiac arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats)

• Migraine prophylaxis

• Essential tremor

• Used in some cases for anxiety or hyperthyroidism symptoms

Dosage:

• Usual adult dose: 10–40 mg, 2–3 times daily, depending on the condition and physician’s instructions

• Can be taken with or without food

• Dose adjustments may be necessary based on heart rate, blood pressure, and clinical response

Mechanism of Action:

• Non-selective beta-adrenergic receptor blocker

• Reduces heart rate, cardiac output, and blood pressure

• Decreases myocardial oxygen demand and suppresses abnormal heart rhythms

Precautions:

• Contraindicated in:

  • Severe bradycardia or heart block

  • Cardiogenic shock

  • Severe asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)

  • Hypersensitivity to propranolol

• Use with caution in:

  • Diabetes mellitus (may mask hypoglycemia symptoms)

  • Peripheral vascular disease

  • Kidney or liver impairment

• Do not abruptly discontinue; taper gradually to avoid rebound hypertension or angina

Possible Side Effects:

• Fatigue, dizziness, or lightheadedness

• Cold extremities

• Gastrointestinal disturbances (nausea, diarrhea)

• Bradycardia or hypotension

• Rare: bronchospasm, depression, or heart block

Storage:

• Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture

• Keep out of reach of children
