Medication Name: Gliptus 50mg 30 Tablets

Active Ingredient:
Sitagliptin 50 mg

Pharmacological Class:
DPP-4 (Dipeptidyl Peptidase-4) inhibitor

Indication:
Used in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve glycemic control, either alone (if metformin is not tolerated) or in combination with other antidiabetic agents, as an adjunct to diet and exercise.

Dosage:
One tablet once daily, as prescribed by the physician.
Dose adjustments may be necessary based on renal function.

Administration:

• Take orally, with or without food.

• Swallow the tablet whole; do not crush or chew.

Precautions:

• Assess renal function before starting therapy and monitor periodically.

• Use with caution in patients with liver impairment.

• Monitor for symptoms of hypoglycemia when combined with insulin or sulfonylureas.

Possible Side Effects:
Hypoglycemia (mainly when combined with insulin or sulfonylureas), headache, upper respiratory tract infections, nasopharyngitis, and rarely pancreatitis.
