Pharmacological Class:

Indication:
Used in adults and children with type 1 or type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve glycemic control. Provides a basal insulin level over 24 hours.

Dosage:
Individualized according to blood glucose levels, diet, and other antidiabetic medications.
Typically injected once daily at the same time each day.

Administration:

• Subcutaneous injection into the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm.

• Rotate injection sites to reduce the risk of lipodystrophy.

• Do not mix with other insulins in the same syringe.

Precautions:

• Monitor blood glucose regularly.
