Medication Name: Glaptivia Plus 50/1000 mg 30 Tablets

Active Ingredients:
Sitagliptin 50 mg
Metformin Hydrochloride 1000 mg

Pharmacological Class:
Dipeptidyl Peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor + Biguanide combination

Indication:
Used in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve glycemic control when diet, exercise, and metformin or sitagliptin alone are insufficient.

Dosage:
Usually one tablet taken twice daily with meals to reduce gastrointestinal side effects.
Dose may be adjusted based on glycemic response and tolerance.

Administration:

• Oral use only.

• Swallow tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew.

• Continue diet and exercise as recommended by a healthcare provider.

Precautions:

• Monitor renal function before and during treatment.

• Use cautiously in patients with hepatic impairment or heart failure.

• Discontinue temporarily before contrast imaging procedures.

• Not for use in patients with type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.

Possible Side Effects:
Hypoglycemia (especially when combined with other antidiabetics), nausea, diarrhea, headache, upper respiratory tract infection, and rarely lactic acidosis.
