Ezapril 20 mg (30 Tablets)

Active Ingredient:

• Enalapril 20 mg

Therapeutic Class:
ACE inhibitor – Antihypertensive

Indications:

• Hypertension (high blood pressure) in adults

• Heart failure management in combination with other therapies

• May be used to improve survival after myocardial infarction or in patients with left ventricular dysfunction

Dosage:

• Usual adult dose: One tablet once or twice daily, as directed by the physician.

• Can be taken with or without food.

• Dose adjustments may be required based on blood pressure, kidney function, and clinical response.

Mechanism of Action:

• Inhibits angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE), reducing angiotensin II levels.

• Leads to vasodilation, reduced aldosterone-mediated sodium and water retention, and lower blood pressure.

Precautions:

• Contraindicated in:

  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding

  • History of angioedema related to ACE inhibitors

  • Severe renal impairment

  • Hypersensitivity to enalapril

• Use with caution in:

  • Electrolyte imbalances (especially potassium)

  • Kidney or liver impairment

  • Heart failure or volume depletion

• Monitor blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolytes regularly.

Possible Side Effects:

• Cough (ACE inhibitor-related)

• Dizziness or lightheadedness

• Fatigue

• Electrolyte disturbances (high potassium, low sodium)

• Hypotension

• Rare: angioedema, kidney impairment, rash

Storage:

• Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture.

• Keep out of reach of children.
