Indications

Used for:

• Relief of moderate pain (e.g., musculoskeletal pain, menstrual pain)

• Reduction of inflammation

• When oral administration is not feasible

Mechanism of Action

• Inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes

• Reduces prostaglandin synthesis, providing analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic effects

Dosage & Administration

• Adults: 1 suppository rectally 1–2 times daily, or as directed by a physician

• Administer after bowel movement if possible

• Do not exceed the prescribed dose

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to ketoprofen, NSAIDs, or any excipients

• Active gastrointestinal bleeding or ulceration

• Severe heart, liver, or kidney disorders

• History of asthma or allergic reactions induced by NSAIDs

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease, gastrointestinal disorders, or renal impairment

• Monitor for gastrointestinal bleeding or ulcer symptoms

• Avoid concurrent use with other NSAIDs

Side Effects

• Gastrointestinal: nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea

• Rare: dizziness, headache, allergic reactions, rectal irritation

• Long-term use may increase cardiovascular risk
