Medication Name: Curam 457mg Suspension 70ml

Active Ingredients:

• Amoxicillin 400 mg

• Clavulanic acid 57 mg
  (per 5 ml of suspension)

Pharmacological Class:
Broad-spectrum antibiotic (Penicillin + Beta-lactamase inhibitor)

Indications:
Used to treat bacterial infections such as:

• Respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, pneumonia, sinusitis, tonsillitis)

• Ear, nose, and throat infections

• Urinary tract infections

• Skin and soft tissue infections

Mechanism of Action:

• Amoxicillin: Inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis causing bacterial death.

• Clavulanic acid: Protects amoxicillin from breakdown by beta-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria.

Dosage (General Pediatric Guide):

• Usually 25–45 mg/kg/day of amoxicillin, divided into two doses every 12 hours.

• Dosage should be prescribed by a physician according to infection type and patient weight.

Administration Instructions:

• Shake well before use.

• Administer with food to minimize stomach upset.

• Store in the refrigerator after mixing and discard after 7 days.

Precautions:

• Avoid use in patients allergic to penicillin or cephalosporins.

• Dose adjustment required in renal impairment.

• Complete the full course even if symptoms improve.
