Composition

Each suppository contains:

• Paracetamol (Acetaminophen) – 300 mg

Indications

• Relief of mild to moderate pain (headache, toothache, earache, postoperative pain)

• Reduction of fever associated with infections or vaccinations

• Suitable for children when oral administration is difficult (vomiting or refusal to swallow)

Mechanism of Action

• Paracetamol acts centrally to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis in the brain, reducing fever and pain without significant anti-inflammatory effects.

Dosage & Administration

• Route: Rectal

• Children (6–12 years): 1 suppository every 4–6 hours as needed.

• Maximum: Do not exceed 4 doses in 24 hours.

• Do not exceed the recommended daily paracetamol dose (60 mg/kg/day).

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to paracetamol or any excipient

• Severe hepatic impairment

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with liver or kidney disease

• Avoid concurrent use with other paracetamol-containing products

• Maintain proper hydration during fever

Side Effects

• Rare: skin rash, allergic reaction

• Very rare: liver toxicity in overdose
