Composition

Each gram of cream contains:

• Betamethasone valerate 0.1% w/w

Indications

Used for the treatment of inflammatory skin conditions, such as:

• Eczema and dermatitis

• Psoriasis

• Allergic skin reactions

• Pruritus (itching)

• Seborrheic dermatitis

Mechanism of Action

• Betamethasone valerate is a potent corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, redness, and itching by suppressing the immune response and decreasing inflammatory mediators in the skin.

Dosage & Administration

• Apply a thin layer to the affected area once or twice daily, depending on severity.

• Gently rub until absorbed.

• Treatment should not exceed 2 weeks without medical supervision.

• Avoid use on large areas or under occlusive dressings unless directed by a physician.

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to corticosteroids.

• Viral, fungal, or bacterial skin infections (unless treated concurrently).

• Perioral dermatitis or rosacea.

Precautions

• Long-term use can cause skin thinning or systemic absorption.

• Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.

• Use with caution in children or on the face.

Possible Side Effects

• Burning, itching, or irritation at the application site

• Skin thinning or discoloration with prolonged use

• Secondary infection (rare)
