Medication Name: Visanne 2mg 28 Tablets

Active Ingredient:

• Dienogest 2 mg

Pharmacological Class:
Progestin hormone (synthetic derivative of progesterone)

Dosage Form:
Tablets — each tablet contains 2 mg of dienogest

Indications:

• Treatment of endometriosis

• Relief of pain and symptoms associated with endometriosis

Mechanism of Action:
Dienogest works by reducing estrogen production and suppressing endometrial tissue growth both inside and outside the uterus. It leads to a decrease in pelvic pain and endometrial lesions over time.

Dosage and Administration:

• Take one tablet daily, at the same time each day, continuously without interruption (including during menstruation).

• If a dose is missed, take it as soon as remembered, but do not double the next dose.

Precautions:

• Use with caution in patients with a history of thromboembolic events, liver impairment, or hormone-dependent tumors.

• Discontinue if signs of severe depression, persistent headaches, or visual changes develop.

• Not indicated as a contraceptive, though it may reduce fertility while in use.

Possible Side Effects:

• Irregular or absent menstrual bleeding

• Headache

• Breast tenderness

• Mood swings or depression

• Acne or weight changes
