Alkapress 10 mg (30 Tablets)

Active Ingredient:

• Amlodipine 10 mg

Therapeutic Class:
Calcium channel blocker (CCB) – Antihypertensive and antianginal

Indications:

• Hypertension (high blood pressure)

• Chronic stable angina (chest pain caused by reduced oxygen supply to the heart)

• Vasospastic (Prinzmetal’s) angina

Dosage:

• Usual adult dose: One tablet once daily

• Can be taken with or without food

• Take at the same time every day for consistent blood pressure control

Mechanism of Action:

• Blocks calcium influx into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle

• Promotes vasodilation, decreasing peripheral vascular resistance and blood pressure

• Reduces cardiac workload and improves oxygen delivery to heart muscle

Precautions:

• Contraindicated in:

  • Severe hypotension

  • Known hypersensitivity to amlodipine or any excipient in the formulation

• Use with caution in:

  • Heart failure

  • Liver impairment (dose adjustment may be necessary)

  • Elderly patients (risk of edema or hypotension)

• Avoid abrupt discontinuation; taper if stopping under medical supervision

Possible Side Effects:

• Dizziness or lightheadedness

• Fatigue

• Headache

• Flushing

• Peripheral edema (especially ankle or foot swelling)

• Rare: palpitations, hypotension, allergic skin reactions

Storage:

• Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from moisture and light

• Keep out of reach of children
