Zithrokan 100mg Suspension

Zithrokan 100 mg/5 ml Suspension (Azithromycin)

Active Ingredient:
Azithromycin 100 mg per 5 ml

Pharmacological Class:
Macrolide antibiotic

Indications:
Used for the treatment of bacterial infections, including:

• Upper respiratory tract infections (pharyngitis, tonsillitis, sinusitis)

• Lower respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, pneumonia)

• Ear, nose, and throat infections

• Skin and soft tissue infections

• Certain sexually transmitted infections caused by Chlamydia trachomatis

Dosage (for children):

• The usual dose is 10 mg/kg once daily for 3 days, or as prescribed by the doctor.

• Shake the bottle well before each use.

Dosage (for adults):

• Not commonly used; adults are usually prescribed the 250 mg or 500 mg forms.

Administration:

• Take the suspension on an empty stomach (1 hour before or 2 hours after meals).

• Shake well before each use to ensure uniform suspension.

Precautions:

• Avoid in patients allergic to azithromycin or other macrolides.

• Use with caution in liver dysfunction.

• Avoid taking simultaneously with aluminum or magnesium-containing antacids (maintain 2-hour gap).

Possible Side Effects:

• Gastrointestinal upset: nausea, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort

• Dizziness or headache

• Mild rash (stop use and seek medical help if severe)

Storage:

• Store below 25°C.

• After reconstitution, keep in the refrigerator and use within 5 days.
