Active Ingredients:
Vildagliptin 50 mg

Pharmacological Class:
Dipeptidyl Peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor

Indication:
Used to improve blood glucose control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus, either as monotherapy or in combination with other antidiabetic agents such as metformin or sulfonylureas.

Dosage:
Commonly 50 mg once or twice daily, depending on treatment combination and medical advice.

Administration:
Take orally with or without food at the same time each day.

Precautions:

• Monitor liver function periodically.

• Use with caution in patients with renal impairment.

• Not recommended for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.

Possible Side Effects:
Headache, dizziness, mild hypoglycemia (especially when combined with other agents), gastrointestinal upset, and fatigue.
