Tritace 1.25 mg (14 Tablets)

Active Ingredient:

• Ramipril 1.25 mg

Therapeutic Class:
ACE inhibitor (Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme inhibitor) – Antihypertensive

Indications:

• Hypertension (high blood pressure) in adults

• Heart failure or left ventricular dysfunction after myocardial infarction

• Reduction of cardiovascular risk in high-risk patients (e.g., with diabetes or coronary artery disease)

• Often used as a starting dose for patients requiring careful titration.

Dosage:

• Initial dose: 1.25 mg once daily, usually for patients who are sensitive, elderly, or have renal impairment.

• Dose may be gradually increased according to blood pressure response, up to typical doses of 2.5–10 mg daily.

• Can be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time each day.

Mechanism of Action:

• Inhibits angiotensin-converting enzyme, reducing levels of angiotensin II.

• Leads to vasodilation, decreased blood pressure, reduced cardiac workload, and kidney protection.

Precautions:

• Contraindicated in:

  • History of angioedema with ACE inhibitors

  • Pregnancy (especially second and third trimesters)

  • Severe renal impairment or bilateral renal artery stenosis

  • Hypersensitivity to ramipril

• Use with caution in:

  • Electrolyte imbalances (potassium)

  • Heart or kidney disease

  • Patients on diuretics or potassium supplements

• Monitor blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolytes regularly.

Possible Side Effects:

• Dizziness, lightheadedness, fatigue

• Dry cough

• Low blood pressure (hypotension)

• Elevated potassium levels (hyperkalemia)

• Rare: angioedema, kidney impairment, rash
