Seloken ZOC 200 mg (28 Tablets)

Active Ingredient:

• Metoprolol succinate 200 mg (Extended-release beta-1 selective adrenergic blocker)

Therapeutic Class:
Beta-blocker (cardioselective, extended-release formulation)

Indications:

• Management of hypertension (high blood pressure)

• Treatment of angina pectoris (chest pain due to coronary artery disease)

• Control of chronic heart failure (as part of combination therapy)

• Management of certain arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats)

• Secondary prevention after myocardial infarction (heart attack)

Dosage:

• Usual adult dose: one tablet once daily.

• Should be swallowed whole with water; do not chew or crush.

• Can be taken with or immediately after food to improve absorption.

• Dose may be adjusted gradually according to clinical response and blood pressure control.

Precautions:

• Contraindicated in severe bradycardia, heart block greater than first degree, cardiogenic shock, and severe heart failure decompensation.

• Use with caution in patients with asthma, COPD, diabetes, peripheral vascular disease, or thyroid disorders.

• Abrupt discontinuation should be avoided; taper gradually over 1–2 weeks.

• Monitor blood pressure, heart rate, and ECG regularly.

• May mask symptoms of hypoglycemia in diabetic patients.

Possible Side Effects:

• Fatigue or tiredness

• Dizziness or lightheadedness

• Bradycardia (slow heart rate)

• Cold hands or feet

• Gastrointestinal discomfort or nausea

• Sleep disturbances or vivid dreams

• Rare: depression, shortness of breath, or worsening heart failure
