Generic Name: Hydrocortisone 1% / Chloramphenicol 1% otic solution

Formulation: Ear drops, 10 ml bottle

Indications:

• Treatment of inflammatory and bacterial ear infections.

• Reduces swelling, redness, and itching in the ear canal.

• Combines anti-inflammatory (hydrocortisone) and antibacterial (chloramphenicol) effects.

Dosage & Administration:

• Adults and children over 2 years: 3–4 drops in the affected ear(s) 2–3 times daily, or as prescribed.

• Clean and dry the ear before application.

• Tilt the head to allow drops to reach the ear canal and remain tilted for a few minutes after administration.

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to hydrocortisone, chloramphenicol, or any component of the formulation.

• Avoid use in viral or fungal ear infections unless directed by a doctor.

Precautions:

• Use with caution in patients with perforated eardrum; consult a doctor before use.

• Do not use for prolonged periods without medical supervision.

• Stop use if signs of allergy or worsening infection occur.

Side Effects:

• Mild burning, stinging, or itching in the ear

• Rare: allergic reactions, redness, swelling

• Prolonged use may rarely cause local fungal infections

Storage:

• Store at room temperature below 25°C.

• Keep the bottle tightly closed and protected from light.

• Keep out of reach of children.

Pregnancy & Lactation:

• Use only if clearly needed and under medical supervision.

Drug Interactions:

• Minimal when used topically; systemic interactions are unlikely.
