Generic Name: Sodium Chloride 5% ophthalmic solution

Formulation: Eye drops, 15 ml bottle

Indications:

• Hypertonic saline solution for reducing corneal edema (swelling) due to conditions like corneal dystrophies or after eye surgery.

• Helps draw excess fluid from the cornea to improve vision and relieve discomfort.

Dosage & Administration:

• Adults and children: 1–2 drops in the affected eye(s) up to 4–6 times daily, or as prescribed by a doctor.

• Wash hands before use and avoid touching the dropper tip to the eye.

• Remove contact lenses before application; wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting.

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to sodium chloride or any component of the formulation.

Precautions:

• May cause temporary stinging or burning.

• Use with caution in patients with dry eye or other ocular surface disorders.

Side Effects:

• Mild stinging or irritation

• Temporary blurred vision

• Rare: allergic reactions

Storage:
