Medication Name: Novorapid 100 IU/ml 5 FlexPens

Active Ingredient:
Insulin Aspart 100 IU/ml

Pharmacological Class:
Rapid-acting insulin analog

Indication:
Used in adults, adolescents, and children with diabetes mellitus (type 1 or type 2) to control postprandial (after-meal) blood glucose levels.

Dosage:
The dose is individualized based on blood glucose monitoring, diet, and physical activity. Typically administered immediately before a meal or, if necessary, shortly after eating.

Administration:

• Administer subcutaneously using the prefilled FlexPen.

• Injection sites include the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm, and should be rotated to prevent lipodystrophy.

• May be used in combination with long-acting or basal insulin preparations if prescribed.

• Do not mix with other insulins unless specifically instructed by a healthcare provider.

Precautions:

• Regularly monitor blood glucose levels to prevent hypoglycemia.

• Adjust dose during illness, stress, or significant changes in diet or exercise.

• Do not share pens or needles.

• Store unused pens in the refrigerator; once in use, keep at room temperature (below 30°C) and discard after 28 days.

Possible Side Effects:
Hypoglycemia, local injection site reactions (pain, redness, or swelling), lipodystrophy, itching, mild edema, and rare allergic reactions.
