Active Ingredients:
Sitagliptin 50 mg
Metformin Hydrochloride 500 mg

Pharmacological Class:
Dipeptidyl Peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor + Biguanide combination

Indication:
For the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults to improve glycemic control when diet, exercise, and metformin or sitagliptin alone do not provide adequate control.

Dosage:
Typically, one tablet taken twice daily with meals to minimize gastrointestinal side effects.
Dose adjustments depend on blood glucose response and renal function.

Administration:

• Oral use only.

• Take with food to reduce stomach discomfort.

• Swallow tablet whole with water; do not crush or split.

Precautions:

• Assess renal function before starting and periodically thereafter.

• Avoid in severe renal or hepatic impairment.

• Discontinue before radiologic procedures using iodinated contrast.

• Not indicated for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.

Possible Side Effects:
Hypoglycemia (especially with other antidiabetic drugs), nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, headache, and risk of lactic acidosis in predisposed individuals.
