Medication Name: Gynozol 400 mg vaginal suppositories (3 suppositories)
Active Ingredient: Clotrimazole 400 mg
Drug Class: Antifungal (azole class)
Indications:
Gynozol is used for treatment of vaginal fungal infections (candidiasis/yeast infection), which may cause:
-
Vaginal itching or irritation
-
Abnormal discharge (white, thick, cottage-cheese-like)
-
Redness or swelling of the vulva and vaginal area
Mechanism of Action:
-
Clotrimazole inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane.
-
This leads to disruption of the fungal cell membrane, causing death of the fungus and resolution of infection.
Dosage and Administration:

Adults: Insert 1 suppository (400 mg) vaginally at bedtime for 3 consecutive nights.
-
Wash hands before and after application.
-
Best to lie down for a few minutes after insertion to prevent leakage.
-
Avoid sexual intercourse during treatment or use a condom, as the suppository may weaken latex.

-
Mild burning, itching, or irritation after insertion
-
Vaginal dryness or discomfort
