Garamycin 0.1% Ointment 15 gm

Active Ingredient

• Gentamicin Sulfate 0.1%

Indications

• Treatment of bacterial skin infections such as:

  • Impetigo

  • Folliculitis

  • Minor cuts, abrasions, and burns infected with susceptible bacteria

How to Use

• Clean and dry the affected area

• Apply a thin layer 1–3 times daily, or as directed by a physician

• Cover with sterile gauze if necessary

• Wash hands before and after application

Common Side Effects

• Mild skin irritation, redness, or itching

• Temporary burning or stinging at the application site

Serious Side Effects

• Rare allergic reactions (rash, swelling, difficulty breathing)

• Prolonged use may lead to resistant bacteria

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to gentamicin or other aminoglycosides

• Not for use in viral, fungal, or non-infected skin lesions

Important Notes

• Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, and mucous membranes

• Use for the prescribed duration even if symptoms improve

• Consult a doctor if no improvement within a few days
