Medication Name: Galvus Met 50/500 mg 30 Tablets

Active Ingredients:
Vildagliptin 50 mg
Metformin Hydrochloride 500 mg

Pharmacological Class:
Dipeptidyl Peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor + Biguanide combination

Indication:
Used to control blood glucose levels in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet, exercise, and either vildagliptin or metformin alone are inadequate.

Dosage:
Typically one tablet taken twice daily (morning and evening) with meals.
Dose may be adjusted according to individual therapeutic response and tolerability.

Administration:

• For oral use only.

• Take with food to minimize gastrointestinal discomfort.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water; do not crush or chew.

Precautions:

• Evaluate renal function before and regularly during treatment.

• Contraindicated in severe renal impairment or metabolic acidosis (including diabetic ketoacidosis).

• Use cautiously in patients with hepatic dysfunction or congestive heart failure.

• Avoid excessive alcohol consumption.

Possible Side Effects:
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, headache, dizziness, hypoglycemia (especially when combined with insulin or sulfonylureas), and in rare cases, lactic acidosis or hepatic enzyme elevation.
