Medication Name: Galvus Met 50/1000 mg 30 Tablets

Active Ingredients:
Vildagliptin 50 mg
Metformin Hydrochloride 1000 mg

Pharmacological Class:
Dipeptidyl Peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor + Biguanide combination

Indication:
Used to improve blood glucose control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet, exercise, and either vildagliptin or metformin alone do not provide adequate control.

Dosage:
Typically one tablet taken twice daily (morning and evening) with meals.
Dosage should be individualized based on the patient’s current regimen and response.

Administration:

• For oral use only.

• Take with food to reduce gastrointestinal discomfort.

• Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew.

Precautions:

• Evaluate kidney function before starting and regularly during treatment.

• Contraindicated in severe renal impairment or metabolic acidosis (including diabetic ketoacidosis).

• Use with caution in patients with liver disease or congestive heart failure.

• Avoid excessive alcohol intake.

Possible Side Effects:
Headache, dizziness, nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, hypoglycemia (especially when combined with sulfonylureas or insulin), and in rare cases, lactic acidosis or hepatic dysfunction.
