Fusamic 1% Viscous Eye Drops 5gm

Generic Name: Fusidic Acid 1% ophthalmic solution

Formulation: Eye drops, typically 5 ml bottle

Indications:

• Treatment of bacterial eye infections caused by Gram-positive bacteria, especially Staphylococcus aureus.

• Commonly used for conjunctivitis, blepharitis, and other superficial ocular infections.

Dosage & Administration:

• Adults and children: 1–2 drops in the affected eye(s) every 6–8 hours, or as prescribed by a doctor.

• Wash hands before use and avoid touching the dropper tip to the eye.

• Remove contact lenses before instillation; wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting.

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to fusidic acid or any component of the formulation.

Precautions:

• Use with caution in patients with severe eye infections requiring systemic therapy.

• Avoid prolonged use beyond prescribed duration to prevent resistance.

Side Effects:

• Mild stinging or burning

• Temporary eye irritation

• Rare: allergic reactions or hypersensitivity

Storage:

• Store at room temperature below 25°C.

• Keep the bottle tightly closed and protected from light.

• Keep out of reach of children.

Pregnancy & Lactation:

• Use only if clearly needed and under medical supervision.

Drug Interactions:

• Minimal when used topically; systemic interactions are unlikely.
