Examide 10 mg (30 Tablets)

Active Ingredient:

• Torasemide 10 mg – Loop diuretic

Therapeutic Class:
Loop diuretic and antihypertensive agent

Indications:

• Edema due to:

  • Congestive heart failure

  • Liver cirrhosis

  • Kidney disorders including chronic renal failure

• Hypertension (high blood pressure), either alone or in combination with other antihypertensive medications

Dosage:

• Edema: Typical starting dose 5–20 mg once daily; adjusted as needed by the physician.

• Hypertension: Common dose 5–10 mg once daily.

• Best taken in the morning, with or without food, to avoid nighttime urination.

Mechanism of Action:

• Torasemide inhibits sodium and chloride reabsorption in the loop of Henle, increasing urine production.

• Reduces excess body fluid and decreases blood pressure through volume reduction.

Precautions:

• Contraindicated in:

  • Anuria (absence of urine output)

  • Hypersensitivity to torasemide or sulfonamides

• Use cautiously in:

  • Patients with kidney or liver impairment

  • Diabetes mellitus or gout

  • Electrolyte imbalance (especially low potassium or sodium)

Possible Side Effects:

• Dizziness or faintness (from low blood pressure)

• Increased urination

• Dehydration or electrolyte loss (low sodium, potassium, magnesium)

• Muscle cramps or weakness

• Nausea or headache

• Rare: Elevated uric acid or blood glucose levels

Storage:

• Store below 30°C in a dry place away from sunlight and moisture

• Keep out of reach of children
