Active Ingredients:

1. Empagliflozin 25 mg

2. Linagliptin 5 mg

3. Metformin Hydrochloride 1000 mg

Pharmacological Class:
Combination oral antidiabetic agent (SGLT2 inhibitor + DPP-4 inhibitor + Biguanide)

Indications:
Used for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults to improve glycemic control when diet, exercise, and other single agents are insufficient.

Dosage Form:
Film-coated tablets

Administration:

• Taken orally once daily with meals to reduce gastrointestinal side effects from metformin.

• Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew.

Mechanism of Action:

• Empagliflozin: Increases glucose excretion through urine by inhibiting the SGLT2 transporter in the kidneys.

• Linagliptin: Inhibits DPP-4 enzyme, enhancing incretin hormone activity, which increases insulin release and decreases glucagon secretion.

• Metformin: Reduces hepatic glucose production and improves insulin sensitivity.

Common Side Effects:

• Urinary tract or genital infections

• Increased urination

• Nausea or diarrhea (mainly due to metformin)

• Headache

• Hypoglycemia (especially if combined with other antidiabetic agents)

Precautions:

• Avoid in patients with severe renal impairment or metabolic acidosis.

• Monitor renal function and blood glucose regularly.

• Maintain good hydration to prevent dehydration or kidney stress.

• Discontinue before major surgery or imaging with iodinated contrast agents.
