Active Ingredients:

1. Empagliflozin 10 mg

2. Linagliptin 5 mg

3. Metformin Hydrochloride 1000 mg

Pharmacological Class:
Combination oral antidiabetic agent (SGLT2 inhibitor + DPP-4 inhibitor + Biguanide)

Indications:
For the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults to improve glycemic control when diet, exercise, and other antidiabetic medications are insufficient.

Dosage Form:
Film-coated tablets

Administration:

• Taken orally once daily with meals to reduce gastrointestinal irritation from metformin.

• Swallow whole with water; do not split, crush, or chew.

Mechanism of Action:

• Empagliflozin: Promotes glucose excretion through urine by inhibiting sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) in the kidneys.

• Linagliptin: Inhibits dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4), enhancing incretin hormones to increase insulin release and decrease glucagon secretion.

• Metformin: Decreases hepatic glucose production and improves insulin sensitivity in peripheral tissues.

Common Side Effects:

• Urinary tract infection or genital fungal infection

• Increased urination

• Diarrhea, nausea, or abdominal discomfort (metformin-related)

• Headache

• Hypoglycemia (especially when combined with insulin or sulfonylureas)

Precautions:

• Contraindicated in patients with severe renal impairment or metabolic acidosis.

• Monitor kidney function, liver enzymes, and blood glucose periodically.

• Maintain adequate hydration to avoid dehydration or kidney stress.

• Suspend use before major surgery or contrast imaging procedures.
