Medication Name: Drospadiol 21 Tablets

Active Ingredients:

• Ethinylestradiol 0.03 mg

• Drospirenone 3 mg

Pharmacological Class:
Combined oral contraceptive pill (COC) — estrogen and progestogen combination.

Dosage Form:
Film-coated tablets — 21 tablets per pack (followed by a 7-day tablet-free break).

Indications:

• Contraception (prevention of pregnancy)

• Regulation of menstrual cycles

• Reduction of menstrual pain and bleeding

• Management of premenstrual symptoms (PMS)

• Treatment of hormonal acne in women desiring oral contraception

Mechanism of Action:

• Ethinylestradiol suppresses ovulation and stabilizes the endometrium.

• Drospirenone has anti-androgenic and mild diuretic effects, helping reduce bloating, acne, and fluid retention.

Dosage:
Take one tablet daily for 21 consecutive days, followed by 7 days without tablets, during which withdrawal bleeding usually occurs.

Precautions:

• Not recommended in women with a history of thromboembolic disorders, severe hypertension, or estrogen-dependent tumors.

• Avoid smoking, especially in women over 35 years old.

• May interact with some antibiotics and anticonvulsants (reduces effectiveness).
