Active Ingredients (per tablet):

• Perindopril arginine 5 mg

• Amlodipine besylate 5 mg

Pharmacological Class:

• Perindopril: Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme (ACE) inhibitor

• Amlodipine: Calcium channel blocker (Dihydropyridine type)

Dosage Form:
Tablets — 15 per pack

Indications:

• Essential hypertension (high blood pressure)

• Stable coronary artery disease (angina prevention and control)

• Used when treatment with both agents (ACE inhibitor + calcium channel blocker) is appropriate

Mechanism of Action:

• Perindopril: Inhibits ACE enzyme, reducing angiotensin II and aldosterone production → causes vasodilation and decreases blood pressure.

• Amlodipine: Blocks calcium influx into vascular smooth muscle → relaxes blood vessels and improves blood flow.

• Combined effect lowers blood pressure and improves cardiac oxygen delivery.

Dosage:

• Usual starting dose: One tablet (5/5 mg) once daily, preferably in the morning before meals.

• Dosage may be adjusted based on clinical response, up to 10/10 mg once daily.

Precautions:

• Monitor blood pressure, renal function, and potassium levels regularly.

• Use cautiously in patients with renal impairment, heart failure, or liver disease.

• Avoid in pregnancy and breastfeeding.

• Avoid combining with potassium-sparing diuretics or potassium supplements without medical supervision.
