Chartoreg 80 mg (28 Tablets)

Active Ingredient:

• Valsartan 80 mg (Angiotensin II receptor blocker – ARB)

Therapeutic Class:
Antihypertensive (ARB)

Indications:

• Treatment of essential hypertension in adults.

• May be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents.

• Helps lower blood pressure by relaxing blood vessels, improving blood flow, and reducing strain on the heart.

Dosage:

• Usual adult dose: one tablet once daily.

• Can be taken with or without food.

• Dose adjustment may be needed based on response and blood pressure control.

Precautions:

• Contraindicated during pregnancy and in patients with severe hepatic impairment.

• Use cautiously in patients with renal impairment, dehydration, or low sodium levels.

• Regular monitoring of blood pressure, kidney function, and serum potassium is recommended.

• Avoid concurrent use with potassium supplements or potassium-sparing diuretics unless directed by a physician.

Possible Side Effects:

• Dizziness or lightheadedness (especially at the start of therapy)

• Fatigue

• Headache

• Low blood pressure (hypotension)

• Increased blood potassium (hyperkalemia)

• Rare: allergic reactions or kidney function changes
