Tamsulosin hydrochloride 0.4 mg (modified release)
Indications:
Used for the treatment of:

Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)

Lower urinary tract symptoms associated with prostate enlargement (difficulty urinating, weak stream, or frequent urination, especially at night)
Mechanism of Action:
Tamsulosin selectively blocks alpha-1A adrenergic receptors in the prostate and bladder neck, leading to relaxation of smooth muscles. This improves urine flow and reduces symptoms of obstruction without significantly affecting blood pressure.
Dosage and Administration:

Usual dose: One capsule (0.4 mg) once daily.

Should be taken after the same meal each day (preferably after breakfast).

Swallow the capsule whole; do not crush or chew.
Contraindications:

Known hypersensitivity to tamsulosin or any component of the formulation.

History of orthostatic hypotension.
Precautions:

Caution in patients with severe renal or hepatic impairment.

May cause dizziness or fainting, especially when standing up suddenly.

Inform the ophthalmologist before cataract or glaucoma surgery (risk of intraoperative floppy iris syndrome).
