Medication Name: Bioglita Plus 15/500 mg 30 Tablets

Active Ingredients:
Pioglitazone 15 mg
Metformin Hydrochloride 500 mg

Pharmacological Class:
Thiazolidinedione + Biguanide combination (antidiabetic agents)

Indication:
Used to improve blood glucose control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet, exercise, and monotherapy with either pioglitazone or metformin are inadequate.

Dosage:
Typically one tablet taken once or twice daily with meals.
The dose should be adjusted according to individual glycemic response and tolerability.

Administration:

• For oral use only.

• Take with food to reduce gastrointestinal side effects.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water; do not crush or chew.

Precautions:

• Contraindicated in patients with severe kidney or liver impairment, or in those with heart failure (NYHA Class III or IV).

• Monitor liver function periodically during therapy.

• Use with caution in patients with a history of bladder cancer or fluid retention.

• Avoid alcohol to minimize the risk of lactic acidosis.

Possible Side Effects:
Weight gain, fluid retention or edema, nausea, diarrhea, dizziness, headache, and mild hypoglycemia (especially when combined with other antidiabetic drugs). Rarely, lactic acidosis or hepatic enzyme elevation may occur.
