Avivavasc 10/160 mg (28 Tablets)

Active Ingredients:

• Amlodipine 10 mg – Calcium channel blocker

• Valsartan 160 mg – Angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB)

Therapeutic Class:
Combination antihypertensive (Calcium channel blocker + ARB)

Indications:

• Essential hypertension (for patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by monotherapy)

• May be used as replacement therapy for patients already stabilized on amlodipine and valsartan taken separately

Dosage:

• Usual adult dose: One tablet once daily

• Can be taken with or without food

• Should be taken at the same time each day

• Dose should be individualized according to blood pressure response under physician supervision

Mechanism of Action:

• Amlodipine inhibits calcium influx into vascular smooth muscle and myocardium, leading to vasodilation and reduced peripheral resistance.

• Valsartan selectively blocks angiotensin II receptors, preventing vasoconstriction and aldosterone release.

• The combination provides additive blood pressure reduction through complementary mechanisms.

Precautions:

• Contraindicated in:

  • Pregnancy (especially during 2nd and 3rd trimesters)

  • Severe hepatic impairment

  • Hypersensitivity to either component

• Use cautiously in:

  • Renal impairment or dehydration

  • Heart failure or aortic stenosis

  • Patients with elevated potassium levels

• Monitor renal function, electrolytes, and blood pressure regularly.

Possible Side Effects:

• Dizziness or headache

• Peripheral edema (ankle or foot swelling)

• Fatigue or flushing

• Hypotension (especially in volume-depleted patients)

• Rare: Hyperkalemia, renal impairment, or allergic reactions

Storage:

• Store below 30°C in a dry place, away from moisture and sunlight

• Keep out of reach of children
