Etoricoxib 120 mg
Drug Class:
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) – Selective COX-2 inhibitor
Indications:
• Acute gouty arthritis
• Acute musculoskeletal pain
• Post-operative dental pain
Dosage:
The usual dose is 120 mg once daily.
This strength is recommended for short-term use only (usually up to 8 days in acute gout).
Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary.
Contraindications:
• Hypersensitivity to etoricoxib
• Active gastrointestinal ulceration or bleeding
• Severe hepatic impairment
• Severe renal impairment
• Established ischemic heart disease, peripheral arterial disease, or cerebrovascular disease
• Uncontrolled hypertension
• Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Precautions:
• Increased risk of cardiovascular thrombotic events
• Monitor blood pressure regularly
• Use cautiously in patients with history of peptic ulcer
• Caution in elderly patients
• Avoid prolonged use at high doses

• Headache
• Dizziness
• Dyspepsia
• Abdominal pain
• Edema
• Elevated blood pressure
