Tritace Comp 5 mg/25 mg (14 Tablets)

Active Ingredients:

• Ramipril 5 mg (ACE inhibitor)

• Hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg (Thiazide diuretic)

Therapeutic Class:
Combination antihypertensive – ACE inhibitor + Thiazide diuretic

Indications:

• Treatment of essential hypertension in adults when ramipril or hydrochlorothiazide alone is not sufficient.

Dosage:

• Usual adult dose: One tablet once daily, preferably in the morning.

• Can be taken with or without food.

• Dose may be adjusted according to blood pressure response and tolerance.

Mechanism of Action:

• Ramipril: Blocks angiotensin-converting enzyme, reducing angiotensin II levels, leading to vasodilation and lower blood pressure.

• Hydrochlorothiazide: Increases excretion of sodium and water, reducing blood volume and contributing to blood pressure reduction.

Precautions:

• Contraindicated in:

  • Hypersensitivity to ramipril, hydrochlorothiazide, or sulfonamides

  • History of angioedema related to ACE inhibitors

  • Severe renal impairment or hepatic encephalopathy

  • Pregnancy (especially second and third trimesters)

• Use with caution in patients with:

  • Electrolyte imbalances (sodium, potassium)

  • Renal or hepatic impairment

  • Gout or diabetes

• Monitor blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolytes regularly.

• Avoid abrupt discontinuation to prevent rebound hypertension.

Possible Side Effects:

• Dizziness, lightheadedness

• Headache, fatigue

• Electrolyte disturbances: low sodium or potassium

• Increased urination or dehydration

• Dry cough (from ACE inhibitor)

• Rare: angioedema, severe hypotension, kidney impairment

Storage:

• Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture.

• Keep out of reach of children.
