Tritace 2.5 mg (14 Tablets)

Active Ingredient:

• Ramipril 2.5 mg

Therapeutic Class:
ACE inhibitor (Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme inhibitor) – Antihypertensive

Indications:

• Hypertension (high blood pressure) in adults

• Heart failure or left ventricular dysfunction after myocardial infarction

• Reduction of cardiovascular risk in high-risk patients (e.g., with diabetes or coronary artery disease)

Dosage:

• Usual adult dose: 2.5–5 mg once daily initially; may be increased gradually according to response.

• Can be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time each day.

• Dose adjustments may be needed in renal impairment.

Mechanism of Action:

• Inhibits angiotensin-converting enzyme, lowering angiotensin II levels.

• Causes vasodilation, reduces blood pressure, decreases cardiac workload, and helps protect the kidneys.

Precautions:

• Contraindicated in:

  • History of angioedema with ACE inhibitors

  • Pregnancy (especially second and third trimesters)

  • Severe renal impairment or bilateral renal artery stenosis

  • Hypersensitivity to ramipril

• Use with caution in:

  • Electrolyte imbalances (especially potassium)

  • Heart or kidney problems

  • Patients on diuretics or potassium supplements

• Monitor blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolytes regularly.

Possible Side Effects:

• Dizziness, lightheadedness, fatigue

• Dry cough

• Low blood pressure (hypotension)

• Elevated potassium levels (hyperkalemia)

• Rare: angioedema, kidney impairment, rash

• Store below 25°C in a dry place away from light and moisture.

• Keep out of reach of children.
