Triplixam 5/1.25/5 mg (15 Tablets)

Active Ingredients:

• Perindopril 5 mg (ACE inhibitor)

• Indapamide 1.25 mg (Thiazide-like diuretic)

• Amlodipine 5 mg (Calcium channel blocker)

Therapeutic Class:
Triple combination antihypertensive – ACE inhibitor + Thiazide-like diuretic + Calcium channel blocker

Indications:

• Essential hypertension (high blood pressure) in adults, particularly for patients whose blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled with monotherapy or dual therapy.

• Helps reduce cardiovascular risk in patients requiring intensive blood pressure management.

Dosage:

• Usual adult dose: One tablet once daily, preferably in the morning.

• Can be taken with or without food.

• Dose adjustments may be made based on blood pressure response and patient tolerance.

Mechanism of Action:

• Perindopril: Inhibits angiotensin-converting enzyme, reducing angiotensin II levels, causing vasodilation and lower blood pressure.

• Indapamide: Promotes sodium and water excretion, reducing blood volume and blood pressure.

• Amlodipine: Blocks calcium channels in vascular smooth muscle, causing vasodilation.

• The combination provides synergistic blood pressure reduction through complementary mechanisms.

Precautions:

• Contraindicated in:

  • History of angioedema related to ACE inhibitors

  • Severe hypotension

  • Severe renal or hepatic impairment

  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding

  • Hypersensitivity to any component

• Use with caution in:

  • Electrolyte imbalances (potassium, sodium)

  • Heart failure

  • Diabetes (ACE inhibitors or diuretics may affect glucose)

  • Patients on other antihypertensive or potassium-altering medications

• Monitor blood pressure, renal function, and electrolytes regularly.

Possible Side Effects:

• Dizziness, fatigue, or lightheadedness

• Low blood pressure (hypotension)

• Peripheral edema (swelling of hands/feet)

• Dry cough (from ACE inhibitor)

• Electrolyte disturbances (low potassium or sodium)

• Gastrointestinal upset (nausea)

• Rare: angioedema, rash, palpitations, or shortness of breath
