Medication Name: Cyclo-Progynova 21 tablets
Active Ingredients:

• Estradiol valerate 2 mg (estrogen)

• Norgestrel 0.5 mg (progestogen)

Drug Class: Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and cycle regulator

Indications:

Cyclo-Progynova is primarily used for:

1. Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in women with symptoms due to estrogen deficiency (especially during or after menopause), such as:

   • Hot flashes and night sweats

   • Vaginal dryness or discomfort

   • Mood swings or sleep disturbances

2. Cycle regulation in women with irregular menstrual cycles caused by hormonal imbalance.

3. Sometimes prescribed after certain gynecological treatments to restore a normal cycle pattern.

Dosage and Administration:

• The pack contains 21 tablets with two types of tablets:

  • White tablets (Estradiol only): usually taken for the first 11 days.

  • Light brown tablets (Estradiol + Norgestrel): taken for the following 10 days.

• Take one tablet daily at the same time each day for 21 consecutive days, followed by a 7-day tablet-free break, during which a withdrawal bleed (similar to a period) usually occurs.

• After the 7-day break, start the next pack regardless of whether bleeding has stopped.

Side Effects:

• Breast tenderness or swelling

• Nausea, bloating

• Headache or mild migraine

• Mood changes

• Spotting or breakthrough bleeding

• Fluid retention

• Rare: blood clots (deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism), especially in smokers or women over 35

Warnings and Precautions:

• Not suitable for women with:

  • Breast or estrogen-dependent cancer

  • Unexplained vaginal bleeding

  • Active liver disease

  • History of blood clots or stroke

• Use cautiously if you have hypertension, diabetes, migraine, or gallbladder issues.

• Requires periodic medical follow-up and breast exams.
