Medication Name: Clindasol 30ml Spray

Active Ingredient:
Clindamycin phosphate 1% (equivalent to clindamycin 10 mg per ml)

Pharmacological Class:
Topical lincosamide antibiotic

Dosage Form:
Topical spray solution for external use

Indications:

• Treatment of acne vulgaris on large or hard-to-reach skin areas (such as back, chest, or shoulders)

• Reduces inflammation and bacterial growth associated with acne

Mechanism of Action:
Clindamycin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit of Cutibacterium acnes (formerly Propionibacterium acnes), leading to a reduction in bacterial population and inflammatory lesions.

Dosage and Administration:

• Apply by spraying a thin layer on the affected area once or twice daily.

• Ensure skin is clean and dry before application.

• Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, or mucous membranes.

• Wash hands after application if applied by hand.

Side Effects:

• Mild burning, dryness, or redness at the site of application

• Itching or peeling

• Rarely, diarrhea or pseudomembranous colitis from systemic absorption

Precautions:

• For external use only.

• Avoid inhaling the spray or applying on broken skin.

• Discontinue use if severe irritation or allergic reaction occurs.

• Use with caution in patients with a history of colitis or antibiotic-associated diarrhea.

Storage:
Store below 25°C, away from direct sunlight and heat.
